OTHER STAFF:

School Librarian: Tany Toyen
BS Educational Media Specialist,
MA Human Resource Development, ESOL, C.A.P.

Tany began her study of Astrology in 1967 in Fort Lauderdale, Fl. In 1970 she opened the Dania School of Astrology in one room above the local ice cream parlour, with co-founder Josephine Sabino, who was the first teacher she studied with in Miami. The next year they started the Astrological Association of Hollywood, and many remember the acclaimed luncheons with famous, and not so famous, astrologers from all over the country coming in to speak. Edie Custer was the first speaker we ever had, and it was also her first speaking experience. For a couple of people who didn't have any idea what was to come of this event , it went really well, and Edie realized she wasn't so timid after all.

Tany moved to Kailua-Kona , Hawaii in 1975, and began teaching, and writing a column for the local paper until 1980, when she returned to Florida. She has been a Media Specialist and Librarian in schools K-12 throughout the U.S. and up to the present. She is now living in Lake Worth, Fl. and continuing school library work. The Avalon School of Astrology Library and Audio-Visual Department is Tany's new project, and she is looking forward to organizing and maintaining the hundreds of books, magazines, tapes, and articles that are forthcoming to the Library for many years to come!
