FACULTY
AND STAFF, LICENSURE, LEGAL OWNERSHIP, AND GOVERNING BODY: The
school is supervised by the President, Fei Cochrane. The President oversees
the daily operations of the school and is responsible for ensuring that
the mission of the school and that the policies and regulations of the
school are properly carried out.
The Director of Education consults with the Board on the curriculum and educational
program.
The Placement Director is in charge of researching current employment conditions.
The Placement Director advises the Director of Education on findings in this
regards, and the Placement Director also oversees consultations and dissemination
of information to students regarding employment opportunities and strategies
for accelerating the careers of graduating students.
The Admissions Director is in charge of the processing of student applications,
and the Financial Aid Director is responsible for overseeing evaluation of students
for financial aid and notification of students of the amount of financial aid
that they have received.

FACULTY: David
Cochrane, B.A., C.A.P.: David is a full-time computer programmer
for Cosmic Patterns. He has a BA degree in psychology, was a practicing
astrologer in the mid 1970's and switched to computer programming
in the late 1970's.
From 1973 to 1982 David had a full-time astrological consulting practice and
he taught astrology classes part-time in the evenings. He is a well known speaker
at major astrological conferences. His lectures are well attended and well
received. He is the founder of Cosmic Patterns Software Inc., and is the lead
software programmer of the development team that makes the Kepler and Pegasus
astrology programs. He is the author of two astrology books: Astrology for
the 21st Century and AstroLocality Magic.
David pioneered new theories of astrological interpretation using harmonics
and midpoints in the 1970's, but since that time has been devoted to developing
astrology software. David plans to continue working on the Kepler program for
many, many years. He will teach at The Avalon School of Astrology. His broad
knowledge and experience makes him a competent instructor in a wide variety
of astrological topics.
Lee Lehman, Ph.D.: Lee
has a Ph.D. in Botany from Rutgers University. She is author of The Ultimate
Asteroid Book (1988), Essential Dignities (1989), The Book of Rulerships (1992),
Classical Astrology for Modern Living (1996), The Martial Art of Horary Astrology
(2002), and a translation from the French of Papus? Astrology for Initiates.
She originated the Classical Studies course curriculum, which presently includes
seven regular courses: horary, natal, electional, medical, gaming, mundane
and advanced horary. She also originated the Learning with Lee computerized
cd series, which give the astrologer the opportunity to see classical astrology
in action, through an innovative combination of audio and visual presentation.
She teaches regular classes in Amsterdam. She is a Professor and Academic Dean
at Kepler College. In her spare time, she studies herbalism and Chang-Hon style
Tae Kwon Do, in which she holds a 2nd Dan black belt. Lee was the recipient
of the 1995 Marc Edmund Jones Award, the first horary astrologer so honored.
Pamela Gallagher, C.A.P., Rev.,
B.A.: Pam started working as a professional
astrologer in 1972, worked in the corporate business world from 1976 to 1989,
and returned to her astrological consulting practice in 1989. She has over
15 years of experience as a professional astrologer and over 10 years experience
in the business world. She has a very successful consulting business in Cincinnati,
Ohio, and she also teaches astrology classes in Cincinnati several times a
week. Much of Pam's early astrological training was with Katherine de Jersey.
She has spoken at international astrology conferences, is an ordained minister
with the Federation of Independent Unity Churches, completed two years of undergraduate
work at the University of Cincinnati, is a wife and mother, and was very successful
in business marketing in the 1980s.
Pam is an engaging speaker who presents ideas in an exciting, lucid, and clear
manner. She brings a wealth of experience, talent, and knowledge to her clients
and to her students. We chose Pam to be on our faculty because she is an outstanding
instructor, is very dedicated to her work, and brings creative solutions and
improvements to any endeavor that she undertakes. Pam will teach about one
weekend per month in the weekend schedule at The Avalon School of Astrology.
Fei
Cochrane, B.S., TACC: Fei managed several
businesses before she joined Cosmic Patterns Software. She became the business
manager of Cosmic Patterns
Software in 1990. With her management expertise, she has helped Cosmic Patterns
Software evolve and develop as a thriving international company.
In addition to running the business, Fei heads the technical support staff,
is the developer of both the Avalon website and the Cosmic Patterns website.
She works with graphic artists and negotiates all of the business operations.
Fei will teach classes on website development and other computer skills at
The Avalon School of Astrology. Gisele
Terry, M.A., MFT: is a professional astrologer and licensed psychotherapist.
She has a Masters Degree in clinical psychology from Antioch University,
and is an AAMFT certified supervisor for interning psychotherapists.
Gisele is also a Board member of the Organization of Professional Astrology.
Gisele has developed the curriculum material for the Psy 251 course,
Counseling Skills and Ethics.
Brendan Feeley,
M.A., N.D.: Brendan is a founding member of ACVA (American Council
of Vedic Astrology) and SJC (Sri Jagannath Center). He is also a faculty
member of both organizations.
Brendan holds an M.A. degree in archetypal psychology from Pacifica Graduate
Institute and a regular teacher/presenter on mythology and depth psychology
at the Washington Society of Jungian Psychology for the past eight years. One
of Brendan's specialties is medical astrology. Parallel to his interest in
astrology, he also pursued training in naturopathy with a specialty in classical
homeopathy and ayurveda. He has a full-time practice in Rockville, MD and his
work is well known in the USA, Europe and India. He write's articles for international
magazines on vedic astrology and have been a regular presenter at both national
and international conferences for the past ten years.
Michelle
Gould, B.A., M.F.A., TACC: Michelle has a B.A. in English and
a M.F.A in Creative Writing from the University of Florida. She is also
one among the first graduate of The Avalon School of Astrology where
she received the diploma in Theoretical and Applied Cosmic Cybernetics.
Her
astrological education began on a whim in 1983, when she consulted
an astrologer and
walked
out of
the
session
wanting
to
know
more. She
is a founding member and Treasurer of the Association of Young Astrologers
(AYA), a nonprofit organization specializing in outreach to persons
new to astrology, and a speaker at regional and national conferences.
Her
passions include the moon’s nodes and discovering new ways to integrate
the best of modern and ancient techniques in her client work. When she
isn’t immersed in things astrological, she can be found reading
British mysteries, writing poetry, and singing at local haunts. She lives
in Gainesville with her husband Bill and their two mutts, Buddha and
Pearl.
Katarina
Campagnola, B.A.: Katarina has
been a practicing astrologer since 1986. She was trained in Sweden as
a psychotherapist where she practiced until moving to the US in 2004.
Her training in therapeutic psychological techniques and her innate sensitivity
have enabled her to guide her clients along the periodically troublesome
journey of self-discovery and personal awareness. To facilitate the wellbeing
and healing of Katarina's clients, her therapeutic consultations are
done in a grounded and realistic manner that empathetically supports
their efforts to meet the challenges of everyday life with clarity and
purpose.

Tany
began her study of Astrology in 1967 in Fort Lauderdale, Fl. In 1970
she opened the Dania School of Astrology in one room above the local
ice cream
parlour, with co-founder Josephine Sabino, who was the first teacher she
studied with in Miami. The next year they started the Astrological Association
of Hollywood, and many remember the acclaimed luncheons with famous, and
not so famous, astrologers from all over the country coming in to speak.
Edie Custer was the first speaker we ever had, and it was also her first
speaking experience. For a couple of people who didn't have any idea what
was to come of this event , it went really well, and Edie realized she
wasn't so timid after all.
Tany moved to Kailua-Kona , Hawaii in 1975, and began teaching, and writing
a column for the local paper until 1980, when she returned to Florida. She
has been a Media Specialist and Librarian in schools K-12 throughout the U.S.
and up to the present. She is now living in Lake Worth, Fl. and continuing
school library work. The Avalon School of Astrology Library and Audio-Visual
Department is Tany's new project, and she is looking forward to organizing
and maintaining the hundreds of books, magazines, tapes, and articles that
are forthcoming to the Library for many years to come! Instructor Office Hours:
Full-time instructors are required to have 1 hour of time at their
office each day at a scheduled time of the day. Part-time instructors
have proportionately
smaller office hours. Students may visit instructors during these office
hours for counseling, advice, questions, or assistance and extra
help in learning
the subject material.
Faculty and School Evaluation by Students:
At the end of each semester, students submit anonymously an evaluation
of the instructors and the school in general, along with any suggestions
or advice.
The The Avalon School of Astrology staff and the Board of Directors are
constantly monitoring the school activities to ensure that the education
and the atmosphere
is the very best that it possibly can be.
BOARD OF DIRECTORS
The Avalon School of Astrology is governed by a Board of Directors.
The Board of Directors issues policy statements, appoints the President
of the school, makes the budget, and makes changes, as needed, to the policies
and procedures of the school.
