of expertise and proficiency in astrology. All of us are always learning
and astrology is a vast subject that no one person can completely master

WHEN: Seminars
are June 18, 2008 to November 11, 2009. Enrollment by April, 2008 is recommended,

MEETING
TIMES: 5-day intensives from Wednesday to Sunday approximately every
other month.
COST:
10 COURSES FOR $400 each plus some cost of books, etc. Total cost

PREREQUISITE
FOR THIS INTENSIVE SCHEDULE: This program is specifically for professionals
and advanced students in astrology. You should already
be fluent with the basic language of the meanings of planets, aspects,
houses, and zodiac signs, and rulerships. You should also have some familiarity
with the use of transits and progressions. Because every astrologer has
areas in which they have greater interest, knowledge, and experience,
and other areas which they have little knowledge of, your exposure to
astrological ideas is unique and a broad range of previous experience
and knowledge of astrology is likely among attendees.
CLASS
MEETING DETAILS: Classes start at 1 PM on Wednesday
and end on Sunday
at 5 PM. Gainesville is exactly half way between Miami and Atlanta,
and is about a 5 to 5 1/2 hour drive from both of these destinations.

approximately every 7 to 8 weeks. Classes are held at the Avalon school
in Gainesville, FL. The schedule is very intensive, as follows:

be set up as an exercise room. Weather permitting, attendees may also
want
to take a short walk during 15-minute breaks. There is a public park
at the back of the school campus that you take a walk to. It is a
wooded area and is safe. There is a grocery store, Mexican restaurant,
and deli less than 1 mile from the school.

research methods that are really able to determine factors that
are not occurring randomly in the group of
charts!
- Understand
very clearly the astronomical basis of astrological interpretations,
and the similarities and
differences from the ways that astronomers measure planetary

10-course program,
you have fulfilled all academic requirements
to take the
ISAR exam, and
we are confident that graduates of this program
will pass the exam. You will also be
granted the PAC certificate (Professional Astrology
Certificate) from Avalon.
CLASS
TIME AND INTERVAL: Intensives
will be approximately every 7 weeks. Students will be given handouts
and purchase materials 7 weeks ahead of time and should carefully study
the information during the 7 weeks. Students can correspond by e-mail
with the instructor during the 7 weeks. A Yahoo group account has also
been established for this group to join. Students
should know the material BEFORE the intensive to make it possible
to absorb the materiasl in 5 days.
During
the 5-day intensive, classroom lectures will alternate with exercises,
practice sessions, question-and-answer periods, etc. The instructor
will highlight key features of the material that was studied, add additional
material, and give ungraded quizzes and exercises to help students master
the material. Students will be able to explore areas that may be unclear
and/or explore particular areas of interest within the course material.
HOMEWORK
AND TIME COMMITMENT: Students will be given handouts
and purchase materials 7 to 8 weeks
ahead of time and should carefully study the information during these
7 weeks. Students can correspond by e-mail with the instructor during
this 7 - 8 week time period. We are also thinking of setting up a
Yahoo group rather than use e-mail. Students should know the material
BEFORE the intensive. Otherwise it is impossible to absorb the material
in 5 days. If you study 1 hour per day, you will have completed about
50 hours of study during the 7 - 8 weeks preceding a course. We do
not recommend trying to cram the information in over a few days preceding
the seminar because it is very difficult to absorb and master the
material over a brief time. Also, ongoing correspondence via e-mail
with the instructor can be very helpful.
CLASSROOM
INSTRUCTION: During the 5-day intensive, classroom lectures will alternate between
exercises, practice sessions, question-and-answer
periods, etc. The instructor will highlight key features of the material
that was studied, add additional material, and give ungraded quizzes and
exercises to help students master the material. Students will be able
to explore areas that may be unclear and/or explore particular areas of
interest within the course material.
FACULTY: All instructors have extensive expertise in the subjects they teach.
Most instruction is given by David Cochrane and Michelle Gould.
Other instructors may be Lee Lehman and Katarina Campagnola. Terry Gisele
teaches the Ethics and Counseling course. All instructors are highly qualified
and additional information about them is given at the Avalon website,
www.AvalonAstrology.com
ATTENDING
COURSES: You
may attend individual courses rather than attend the entire program
of 10 courses. We adapt the curriculum
to the needs of students enrolled for the full program, but students who
enroll in particular courses without attending the entire program are
very welcome and can benefit tremendously from the courses as well.
REQUIREMENTS
FOR GRADUATION: To graduate from the program you must attend all seminars and pass
the exams. If you study prior to the attendance
of the seminar and you focus on the class material, you should be able
to pass the exam.
OPTIONAL:
Seminar at Avalon coming soon: Demetra,
Dennis, and David seminar in March.
